| It's been such a full week of God-stories and funny stories and times we'll all look back on together and marvel that God used us to do those things............. Some of the highlights for me were: the kids at Set Free ministry day-camp hearing the gospel of Christ and 20 coming to receive it; praying with Jay and Matt and Antwoine (a homless man) at the MLK center after bandaging Jay's leg up; foot washing service on our last night; tucking all "my girls" in at night in our wind vortex 3rd story room; listening to Parker tell me how he spoke in front of a room full of men who were living in a shelter because they were drug addicts or alcoholics; driving with my co-pilot David Cusino all week; seeing God use John Mahoney when he didn't know he was ready; walking to CVS at 11:30 to buy junk food as a group and meeting Gary in the process; talking for 4 hours with my friend Tracy on the way up and back; sorting puzzles with the permanently disabled adults at Frazer center every afternoon.............. Good times. Ask Lauren and I to show you the Spencer dance. Crew Sydney rocks. I love my youth- they make me so very, very proud. | | |
| Okay peeps- we leave in 1 day for Atlanta!! Woo hoo! So, don't forget to pack and pray and sleep on Saturday and I will see you all on Sunday morning. | | |
| Just wanted to give you all a link to Romania updates: http://christruax.blogspot.com/ This is the blog of trip leader, Chris Truax. So far he has only posted 2 updates, as the internet axcess is very sparse where they are located. You can read his other posts about his journeys, though- cool stuff going on in the world. As for me, I finally had a good night's sleep last night in my husband's absence- and that was very welcome. I feel refreshed this morning and ready to tackle the day. Hope all my friends are having a good day as well. | | |
| well, it's always a strange feeling as I sit here and realize my husband is miles and miles away in romania sleeping, as it is 4am there. I heard via e-mail that they all made it safely- an answered prayer. tonight while I am sleeping, Scott will get to preach a message to the christians there, through a translator, of course. That will be very fun for him I'm sure. Well, that's all I know for now- I'll update as I have info- everyone keep the whole team in your prayers. | | |
| in my last post I commented that I would be glad to be here in the air conditioning, while my beloved was at Cornerstone in the heat, and the day before he left, the downstairs unit went out. even in the mugginess that is now my house, I can see the humor. I watched a chick-flick tonight and now I miss my husband. that will amuse him when he reads it. I watched it with my sweet friend who is newly single because her monogamously challenged husband decided to go chase a fantasy. it took me back to all those days in my "first life" as I call it. weird. it's like I have lived 2 lives, except the thread of the first one is subtly woven into the fabric of this one and every once in awhile I pull back and I can see it. like tongiht. I'm just so glad that God has been with me in both of them. | | |
